After much umming and arghing, another phone call to Mark and a bit of brute force and ignorance the rear tub finally got positioned some where about right. The front lines up with the front chassis member and after lifting up the rear and cutting away the inner lip by the fuel tank, the rear wheels fit inside the wheel arches (just). The main part that have been re-jigged are the door returns, the boot tray, the area around the rear turrets and a small slice off the front at the very front. With the rear tub G clamped into place, the side pods were fitted. These went on quite well and were taped into place. Next was the bonnet, this went on not too badly either, as slight gap at the rear of the bonnet and the pods will need to be re-aligned but the engine does not foul and the wheels are in the middle of the arches. I took the decision to bolt on the bonnet with under size bolts so that I could wheel the car around easier. So all in all I am a happier bunny and am looking forward to fitting the body for real in the next couple of weeks. Finally, due to my over zealous use of a jigsaw on the boot floor I am going to have to make up some aluminum side to be riveted on and then GRP'd to the body.
